Lydia's story Questions

1.       Page 130 paragraph 3 “Lydia waited on the top shelf of her linen closet, until the water began to recede.”  

2       Page 129 paragraph 1 “Interestingly, she never used the names “Katrina or Rita” when speaking about the hurricanes.
3       Page 128 paragraph 2 “Entering the large VFW hall, we were struck by the chemical odor of cleaning solution so strong that it seemed toxic. The hall had no windows only fluorescent lighting illuminated the large space.”
4.       1 Purpose to share the story of how I learned to read
5.       2 Audience I think that most everyone has an experience like this one
6.       3 Stance my attitude is more neutral but this book and character became one of my favorite things for many years to come once I learned to read so it is somewhat a good memory
7       4Media/Design I think that some pictures would help convey the story a little bit better
      What do you see this took place in a library it was a small room and there were lots of kids reading
9      What do you hear there were many voices of little children as well as a air conditioner running
10.   What do you smell the smell of musty books and lots of people cramped in a tight little space.
11.   What I feel is a bit sad because I could not read any of the books that were all a round me
12.   What do you taste I did not taste anything but I had a dry throat
13.   Describing each person a little girl sitting on her father’s lap reading to him and my brother reading a book to a bunch of little kids in a bunny costume.
14.   Recall(or image) the little girl saying I can read to her papa
15.   What happened is I found a book about curious Jorge and sounded out each syllable in each word and learned to read
16.   If there had not been the little girl in her fathers lap I would not have been jealous and pushed my self to read.  

17.   This was a turning point in my life because I was able to read and learn other things
