Chapter 1 and preface,( Is Everyone an Author?)



 

The preface was about how authorship has grown from a handful of elite people to anyone with a connection to the internet. Writing and authorship is now becoming a part of every day life. People can now post a picture on Facebook and write a paragraph about it without giving it a second thought.

Chapter one was about how as humans we need rhetoric to communicate to others our ideas. Then it talked about thinking rhetorically is to hear what others are saying and think about why they came to those conclusions. Thinking about others point of view makes you do some serous thinking about your own point of view. Rhetorical thinking also calls on you to think about whats been said about your topic and use that information to inform your audience about your own opinion on the subject.

Another section was about giving credit to others to make yourself seem more credible. It shows that you have done your homework. 

In conclusion it talked about listening to what others are saying, think about why they think that way, give them credit, and to put your own spin on it. Just like this post!
